Luxury leather furniture is an investment that can last for generations if properly maintained. At FAMUCHY, we source only the finest top-grain leathers from world-renowned tanneries, but the journey doesn’t end when the sofa leaves our workshop.
1. Regular Dusting
Dust can settle into the pores of the leather and act as an abrasive, slowly wearing down the finish. Use a soft, lint-free cloth once a week to gently wipe down your leather pieces. Avoid using water or damp cloths unless necessary.
2. Avoid Direct Sunlight
UV rays are the enemy of natural leather. Direct sunlight can cause the colors to fade and the leather to dry out and crack. Position your FAMUCHY sofas away from large windows or use UV-filtering curtains to protect them.
3. Use Specialized Conditioners
Every 6 to 12 months, apply a high-quality leather conditioner. This replenishes the natural oils that the leather loses over time, keeping it supple and preventing cracks. Always test a small, inconspicuous area first.
4. Immediate Spill Response
If you spill something, blot it immediately with a dry cloth. Do not rub, as this can push the liquid deeper into the fibers. For stubborn stains, consult a professional leather cleaner.
